Child Safe Standards - All children have the right to feel safe and be safe, but safety does not just happen. The Standards exist to prevent harm and abuse from happening in organisations. The new Standards provide more clarity for organisations and are more consistent with standards in the rest of Australia. Reportable Conduct Scheme - In summary, the scheme:
requires some organisations to respond to allegations of child abuse (and other child-related misconduct) made against their workers and volunteers, and to notify The Commission for Children and Young People (CCYP) of any allegations
enables the CCYP to independently oversee those responses
facilitates information sharing between organisations, their regulators, Victoria Police, the Department of Justice and Regulation’s Working With Children Check Unit and CCYP.
Child Information Sharing Scheme - The scheme (CISS) enables information sharing between authorised organisations to promote a child's wellbeing or safety.
Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme - The scheme (FVISS) enables the sharing of information between authorised organisations to assess and manage family violence risk.
Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework - The Family Violence Multi-Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) ensures services are effectively identifying, assessing and managing family violence risk.
Safe and Equal - Safe and Equal is the peak body for specialist family violence services that provide support to victim survivors in Victoria.
The Orange Door - The Orange Door is a free service for adults, children and young people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence and families who need extra support with the care of children.
